Joshua Selman's Quotes and Meaning

“The day your knees become too far from the ground, that is the day your crown will fall from your head”

Every crown we get, career advancement, marriage, children, and financial success, is a gift from God that comes and stays after we have prayed. Everything birthed by prayer MUST be sustained by prayer. The day you stop praying is the day you will begin losing the things that God gave you. This quote reminds us that God is the source of the things we desire for our lives. It inspires us to remain humble as we ask him for the gist and to stay in that state even after receiving our requests. The quote is a strategy believers can use to remain relevant for a long time, fight frustrations, and stay humble even amid plenty. It is not a quote to inflict fear of getting thanks but one to remind believers of the sovereignty of God.

“God wants to introduce his mercy but his mercy will never come to people who are sufficient in themselves.”

God desires to lavish his people with mercy. His word says mercy and truth go before him. It is his mercy that causes men to thrive in their affairs. The wisdom of men, diligence, intelligence, and skills are insufficient to satisfy a man. God made it that way. Getting God’s mercy is dependent on the state of a man’s heart. The mercy of God will only come to man who knows he is insufficient in his dealings with other men. This man understands that all the wisdom of men pales in comparison to what God can offer. As he gathers what the world of men can offer, his heart waits for the conviction of the Lord. God cannot ignore such as man. The man has given room for the mercy of God to operate in his life. Where the feels insufficient, God fills it with His mercy.

“You know a believer who does not pray by the repetitions of troubles he always falls into”

Prayer must have a specific effect on the life of a believer. Growth, in all areas of life, is evidence of prayer in the life of a believer. The life of a believer is not void of shaking no matter how much he prays. His shortcomings are not a reason for living a mediocre Christian life but an opportunity to learn and grow even further. It is an opportunity for him to show he has learned his lessons. When he repeatedly fallss doing the same mistake, we will begin to question his prayer life. We will doubt whether he truly prays at all or he understand the meaning of prayer.

The Blessings of God Come from God to men through men

God does not physically come to men when He wants to bless them. He uses other men to bless you. Men play a central agenda in matters of the Kingdom. They can be the blessing other men look for or they can carry the blessing other men are looking for. The quote is twofold, in that it reminds believers that God has placed a high respect for man, who is His best creation. The Bible says that God created man from his image. God has respected man and He has given him the power to carry blessings that other men need. The quote also reminds believers of the importance of men in their lives. It encourages believers to give respect to men in their lives since they can be the ones carrying the blessing God has ordained.

You will never be able to walk in the world of men till you keep an allowance of the frailty and weakness of men

Although the world is broken, God expects us to walk in righteousness. He has given us everything that pertains to life. Most of the challenges we face in life are those that come from fellow men. As men, we are frail. We will hurt other men and other men will hurt us as some point in life regardless of how sincere we want to be. Apostle Selman uses this quote to remind believers that we should always keep allowances of heartaches and pains causes by other men. He reminds us to always given men the benefit of doubt. Expecting men to always love and treat you well is a cause of frustration and disappointment. We can only have a successful walk in this life, when we allow men’s imperfection even when it hurts us.

may you be not poor that the only things you have is money

Of all the blessings available to men, money is the least. Sadly, the world has placed the value of money above other things. Money remains a system of change. ur focus should never be on money but on the things that attract money. Apostle uses this metaphoric quote to inspire believers to pursue things that are above money. Although we view people with money as rich, this quote equals them to poverty if money is he only thing they possess. The quote encourages us to pursue things such as impact, value, purpose and anything that improves the life of men.
