Signs of Mediocrity

Signs of Mediocrity

The world is full of mediocre people, adding another one will make us angrier. People want someone they can depend on—one who follows their words with actions. When you are inconsistent, people might show a general concern for you but deep down, they know they cannot trust you with anything. You can be unaware of your inconsistencies and how they affect your life. In the following article, I  have laid for you 7 signs that prove you are inconsistent. These signs are not only in the workplace but also in family, church, small group, or any institution that requires leadership.

You have rebellious followers

Your followers do not believe your thoughts and convictions no matter the time you share with them. They might never tell you but they mistrust you deep within their hearts. Instead, they will counter your decisions with criticism, gaslighting, or saying yes to your demands to avoid disagreements. When you are not around, the people under you will share plans of abandoning you for other people. Some have left you and thrived under other leaders.

You fail to achieve your goals

You rarely achieve your goals. You create personal, professional, or family goals but fail to follow through to actualization. Getting distracted is the reason for your failure. You have a problem sticking through a project from the start to the finish. Your vision lacks precision and purpose. The followers you have struggle to understand what you want with your business or family. You might get what you want but after spending excess resources and time.

You have a poor teamwork attitude

You have a problem relating to others. As a leader, you do not know the strengths and weaknesses of your followers. You do not invest in social intelligence to understand how to navigate formal and informal relations with your people. You view disagreements as a threat to the position you hold. Every argument leads to more problems and division in your team. You choose to keep things to yourself because you feel your teammates do not understand you. Bitterness might end up creeping inside of you forcing you to work alone and take a workload belonging to others.

You do not see upcoming problems

Whether you are at home or workplace, problems are inevitable. Continuously preparing ourselves for problems is a strategy to address challenges when they occur. When it comes to you, problems get you by surprise. You lack a clear vision of what you want to see in your life and as a result, you lack the necessary material to deal with an issue that arises. Sometimes you resort to quick-fix solutions that can only lengthen the problem.

Withholding or forgetting important information

Institutions run on information. The speed at which an institution receives information determines the speed at which the institution grows. You are more likely to succeed when your mind stores and retains information quickly. Your muscle memory is like other physical muscles strengthened through training. Powerful leaders know the secret of memory retention.  Inconsistent people have little to no understanding of information. They might withhold information for selfish personal or professional knowledge or just lack of knowledge. They might also forget to share information necessary for solving issues or progressing the institution.

You get mediocre or below-average results

Excellence is an inspiration to people. Companies seek inspiration from competitors when excellence is put on the table. Excellence levels the playground. Having a desire for excellence is one thing and achieving excellence is another. Your team, family, or business gets results that neither inspire your followers or competitors. Poor results in your institutions result from a lack of understanding of your environment or the solutions you provide. Your institution is also comfortable getting and managing little.

A bonus sign of an inconsistent person. You always have excuses or you complain a lot. Complainers and people with excuses never achieve anything and unfortunately, you could be one of them. You always have a reason you never achieved the vision you had laid out. You complain about the things that make your progress difficult. You give excuses like lack of money, support from friends, connections from influential people, or a poor background.

People know things that are valuable because they understand the process endured to achieve them. When you encounter some of the signs I have written about, then people have lost trust in you. They are tired of your lack of conviction, your unseriousness, your negative mindset, and your personality. If you have seen 5 of these signs in your life, you need to check on your mindset or read our articles to have people trust you once more.
